Rene Russo was born in Burbank California. She was the daughter of Shirley (Balocca) who was a barmaid as well as factory worker and Nino Russo. Rene's father, a mechanic and sculptor, left the family when she was two. She was raised by her mother Rene and her sister Toni on her own.
